Andrew Neiman is an ambitious young jazz drummer, single-minded in his pursuit to rise to the top of his elite east coast music conservatory. Plagued by the failed writing career of his father, Andrew hungers day and night to become one of the greats. Terence Fletcher, an instructor equally known for his teaching talents as for his terrifying methods, leads the top jazz ensemble in the school. Fletcher discovers Andrew and transfers the aspiring drummer into his band, forever changing the young man’s life. Andrew’s passion to achieve perfection quickly spirals into obsession, as his ruthless teacher continues to push him to the brink of both his ability—and his sanity.

Shipwrecked on a deserted island, a robot named Roz must learn to adapt to its new surroundings. Building relationships with the native animals, Roz soon develops a parental bond with an orphaned gosling.

Four musicians converge on The Gem Theater stage to perform in the Nashville tradition of a “songwriters’ round,'' in which a group of writers perform in a round-robin style sharing original songs and some of the stories behind them. A variety of Maine voices will be represented in this offering: Seth Gallant, Skip Guptill, Cryin Caleb Aaron, and Sara Trunzo. Trunzo will also act as emcee.

Join Mahoosuc Land Trust for their Habitat for All Fall Festival Presentation on Saturday night, September 28th. Enjoy an evening with "apple explorer" John Bunker. In his talk, entitled "Black Oxford: The History of an Apple, A County, A State, and the World," John will discuss the history of this heirloom variety, once a favorite around much of Maine, and its recent return to popularity.

Every year, in the Fall, the Maine Outdoor Film Festival (To Be Held INDOORS) makes its way to Bethel to bring outdoor films to the Maine people, where they are. We feel super privileged to be one of the stops on The MOFF Tour of Maine. Please join us for this special event on Saturday, October 12th! PLEASE NOTE: MOFF is a film festival about the outdoors. Join BAAM at The Gem for a screening of "Voices from the Barrens: Native People, Blueberries and Sovereignty" with filmmaker Nancy Ghertner and Brian Altvater, the President of the Passamaquoddy Wild Blueberry Company on Friday, November 1st at 6:00 pm.
