BAAM at The Gem Presents “Two Fridges” with Rob Banish and the Bethel Area District Exchange & Food Pantry
Midnight weekend screenings happen on Friday & Saturday nights (meaning arrive on Friday and/or Saturday night by 11:45pm for seating, the movie starts after midnight)!
Run Time: 60 min.
Join BAAM at The Gem for a canned food drive and a screening of Rob Banish’s award-winning short film “Two Fridges” on Friday, May 17th at 6:00 pm.
“Two Fridges” is a short film about a small-town sheriff who tries to hold his beach community together as they are torn apart following the theft of a community fridge for the homeless.
In honor of the theme of “Two Fridges,” we will fill a no longer working fridge with canned goods to be donated to the Bethel Area District Exchange & Food Pantry. Bring a canned good or two to help us fill the fridge!
Born and raised on Long Island, Rob Banish has always had his eyes set on filmmaking and making a name for himself in the movies. Following a Major in Film from Long Island University, Rob dove right into work on the Night Crew of the Equipment Room for the largest commercial photography/multimedia studio in the world, Pier59 Studios in Manhattan. After working his way from the Night Crew to the Day, then from the Day Crew to a role in Supervising and Producing, Rob gathered a crew of his peers from the studio to turn their focus onto the script he’d written over the pandemic, Two Fridges.
Over the course of 3-4 days, with about 20 friends, Two Fridges was shot. Then, for the next 3 years between working for the studio, freelancing for various other production companies, and moving to Bethel, Maine, Two Fridges was edited. Now, traveling the festival circuit, Two Fridges is shown on screens across the country and around the world, winning awards and gaining recognition. Rob seeks out connections within each festival, hoping to find the right people to support the production of the next project he has in mind.
