BAAM at The Gem presents the Inaugural Artists in Motion Film Festival, a curated evening of dance films for all. Friday, March 28th at 6:00 pm, doors open at 5:00 pm.

The Artists In Motion Film Festival is currently accepting submissions for our 2nd Annual Screening at The Gem Theater in Bethel, ME at 6 pm on Friday March 28th, 2025. Co-produced by Christina Belinsky Productions and the Bethel Area Arts and Music, the Artists In Motion Film Festival is an event designed for all ages showcasing the brilliant work of artists thriving in Maine and the Northeast. We are looking for:

• Dance films that are under 12  minutes in length. 
• Animated Films or Shorts under 12 minutes in length.
• Short Documentaries connected to the performing arts.
• Shorts, Digital Visuals, or Animated Shorts that are between 00:30-2:30minutes to be used as interludes between the end of each dance film and film introductions.

What makes the Artists In Motion Film Festival unique?

Unlike many festival formats that screen all of the films in a row, this event gives a personalized live introduction to each film. We believe this format helps guide audience members who may be new to the creative medium and gives a greater sense of context for each piece. Our goal is to ignite a localized love for the performing arts and inspire a meaningful post-screening discussion. The evening of the event begins with a Cocktail Social Hour featuring themed cocktails, mocktails, and snacks as well as an Artists In Motion Apparel Pop-Up shop. Stay after the screening for a Q&A, talk back, and dance party.
