Join us at The Gem on Saturday, May 11th, for the Women’s Adventure Film Tour 2024 at 6:30pm. Doors will open at 5:30pm for food & drink. It’s the day before Mother’s Day and so we encourage you to make this an outing with your mom! We are so excited to host this event and welcome you! How many women can we get to gather in one place to share their love of the outdoors and adventure?

A Hike in the Community Forest with Rosemary & Marguerite Wiser

A bike ride on local trails with Ally Fischang and Ann Speth

A walk along Davis Park to Valentine Farm with Sarah Southam

And just added!: Join Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation on a leisurely ride to Valentine Farm from Davis Park with adaptive bikes of all shapes and sizes. All are welcome to join us to discover more about adaptive access and recreation while trying out some exciting equipment! Helmets and signed waivers are required to participate. 

The Women’s Adventure Film Tour is coming to The Gem for the very first time! It features an exhilarating selection of 8 new short films that showcase the inspiring journeys of remarkable women who have fearlessly pursued adventure in various fields.

The Women’s Adventure Film Tour has been celebrated for its unique approach to showcasing women achieving their adventurous goals. Unlike traditional adventure films focusing solely on extreme feats, this tour aims to inspire everyone to step outside their comfort zone and challenge their boundaries – their personal Everest. It’s a celebration of bravery, perseverance, and the indomitable spirit within us.

Social Hour Women Adventuring Slideshow: We’d love to make a local women adventuring slide show for the social hour! Women of the Bethel area, can you send photos of you on outdoor adventures? It can be you on a solo adventure or with family/friends/kids/etc. Please send 1 to 5 jpeg photos to info@thegemtheater.com by 5pm on Friday, May 10th, and we’ll include them in our social hour slideshow.
