Compassion Cures: Building Hope By Overcoming Stigma

Midnight weekend screenings happen on Friday & Saturday nights (meaning arrive on Friday and/or Saturday night by 11:45pm for seating, the movie starts after midnight)!

River Valley Healthy Communities and Healthy Oxford Hills, in partnership with Be the Influence Coalition, are pleased to present a screening of Compassion Cures: Building Hope by Overcoming Stigma at The Gem on Tuesday, October 17th starting at 5pm.  This 30-minute documentary features collective voices and original music which address overcoming stigma related to mental health and substance misuse disorder.  It also provides  resources on helping, in a compassionate way, those who are affected.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring behavioral health experts, people in recovery and more. There will be resource tables available at the event.  It is a great opportunity to learn about community efforts to address mental health and substance misuse.

There will be FREE popcorn, soda/water and pizza buffet for everyone who attends. You do not need a ticket. You can just show up for the event!
